Larry Fortner

Larry Fortner age 57 of Speedwell passed away Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at his home.  He was the son of the late Frank and Clearcie Fortner of Speedwell. Larry always enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting with his friends or fishing with his grandsons. Although he was often quiet and reserved, his loved ones always admired his quick wit and great sense of humor.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother and father Clearcie and Frank Fortner, sister Elizabeth Fortner, Brothers Tony Fortner and Damon Fortner. He is survived by long time partner Mary Fortner of Speedwell, Daughter Ashley Hatfield and husband David of Barbourville KY, and 4 grandchildren Alexander, Riley, Benjamin, and Sarah; Brothers Jerry Fortner of Speedwell, Kenneth Fortner and wife Mary of Tazewell, and sister Phyllis Honeycutt and husband Neil of Tazewell; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 7, 2018 from 6PM until 8PM at Reece Funeral Home and Valley Chapel.  A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12 noon Tuesday in the Reece Funeral Home Valley Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Loy Cemetery.
