Larry Douglas Baird

Larry Douglas Baird, 79 of Fourmile, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at his home. Larry lost his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Glenda just six months ago and has been struggling with his own health issues since. He was born in Chenoa on September 30, 1946, a son of the late Andy and Darlene Baird. He was a great person who was dearly loved. Funny, generous at heart, self-made, and a great husband and father. Larry loved his family deeply and always took good care of them. He enjoyed helping his neighbors. He would help anyone but was no one’s fool. The oldest child of Darlene and Andy, Larry worked hard all of his life in the coal mines of Eastern Kentucky to make a life for his family. He was one of the most exemplary men to ever live and will be fondly remembered and dearly loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Ann Harp Baird, and son, Wade Baird.

Larry is survived by his son, Heath Baird; daughter, Candy Hurst; grandchildren, Kellen, Caden, Brandon, Kendal, Derick, Jerry, and Chris; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Carlton, Octavia, Louis, and Scarlet; sister, Bonnie Holman; the oldest nephew, and a few years older than him, and more like a brother of, Joey and Debbie Miracle; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private services will be held at a later date.
