Rev. Park L. Saylor, 92, passed from this life on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born July 26, 1915 at Forester?s Creek, KY to the late Austin Saylor and Katie Eads Saylor. He was a resident above Pathfork, KY most of his life. Rev. Saylor was converted and called to the Christian Faith when he was 15 years of age on September 17, 1930, received The Gift of the Holy Ghost on October 1, 1930 and preached his first sermon on October 15, 1930 at Middlesboro, KY. He was a retired UMWA Coal Miner. There were countless thousands of people saved, baptized, healed, set free and delivered. The sick, blind, crippled and the dead were raised through his ministry. He moved and operated in the Gifts and callings of God and he traveled for 78 years in evangelizing. Rev. Saylor was an extraordinary man of God, he was a prophet, counselor and a faith believer. He was a chaplain at Bell Forestry Camp at Frakes, KY. Words cannot explain what a man of faith he was and what he meant to the Body of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alma Oma Jean Hollifield and a daughter, Sylvia White. Park is survived by one son, Buddy Raye Saylor and wife, Minnia of Lebannon Junction, KY; one daughter, LaWanda Hail and husband, Reed, Jr. of Pathfork, KY; one brother Carroll Saylor and wife, Monell of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Michael Ridner and wife, Lola of Corbin, KY; Angela Rivas ad husband, Joshua of Lebanon Junction, KY and Regina Fullen of Meadview, VA; a great-grandson, Matthew Rivas; nieces, Lois Hamm and husband, Eddie Ray of Versailles, KY; nieces, Barbara McCown and husband, Steve of Knoxville, TN and Inez Tye of IN and nephews, Randy Bolinger of Knoxville, TN, Jamie Bolinger of London, KY, Shawn Hamm of Verasilles, KY and Bobby Hollifield of Ohio; sister-in-law, Magdalyne Albrecht and family of Glen Byrnie, MD and children, Mike, Bill, Chad, Tommy, David, Teresa, Mary and Judy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Eli Craig, Rev. Jim Gibson, Rev. Jerry Holland and Rev. Ronnie Oplinger. Music will be by Tim Cheek, Geona Snelling, Margie Cox and Rev. Ed Houston. Burial will be in the Saylor Cemetery at Pathfork. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
