Karen Gwenn Roy Clouse, 62, gained her Angel Wings on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home in Ewing, VA. She was born in Pennington Gap, VA on February 9, 1957, and was a daughter of Don and Georgia Burchett Roy. Karen was a member of the Assembly of God in Ewing and had worked for Cumberland Gap Provisions, before beginning her long and courageous 15-year battle with cancer.
In addition to her father, Don Roy, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Roy and an infant son, Jerry Franklin Ellis, Jr.
In addition to her mother, Georgia Roy of Ewing, Karen is survived by her daughters, Jamie Harrison and husband, Joe of Knoxville and Jackie Ellis of Ewing; sister, Sheryl Marcum and husband, John of Middlesboro; nephew, Jason Moore and wife, Shanita; and many very special family members and close lifelong friends.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Pastor Claude West and Pastor Eddie Smith officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Brooks Cemetery in Ewing with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:30 AM Friday morning before the service at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to be serving the family of Karen Clouse. Leave online condolences and sign the guestbook at www.asvalleychapel.com.
