Karen Sue Carnes, 62 of Pineville, Kentucky went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She believed in the holiness faith and was a member of the Canadatown Holiness Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, Max Garnett; brother, John Tom Garnett; and niece, Wendy Warren.
Karen is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Carnes; children, Brooke and Chad Abner of Pineville, and Ashley and Dewayne Jackson of Frakes; grandchildren, Dylan Abner, Dalton Abner, Jada Jackson, and Wesley Jackson; mother, Emma Garnett of Harrogate; brother, Mark Garnett of Ewing; sister, Jewell and Jim Lingar of Harrogate; sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Frank Saylor of Pineville, and Rosemary and Mark Reeder of Pineville; nieces, Tasha Saylor of Pineville, Tabitha and Luke Asher of Pineville, April Reeder of Knoxville, and Marquetta Garnett of Elizabethton, Tennessee; nephews, Michael and Heather Saylor of Pineville, and Marcus Johnson of Ewing, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to our faithful friend, Frieda Pursiful.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Canada, Rev. Tommy Stevens, and Rev. Michael Saylor presiding. Burial will follow at the Carnes Family Cemetery in Pineville. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Jackson, Chad Abner, Dylan Abner, Dalton Abner, Wesley Jackson, Michael Saylor, Easton Saylor, Mark Reeder, Dana Hatfield, and Zach Canada.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Carnes Family.
