Junior Peck

Junior Peck, age 97 of Tazewell, TN passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Claiborne Nursing Home.  He was born May 23, 1924, in St. Charles, VA to the late Paskel and Edna Peck.  Junior loved to watch baseball and wrestling and was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.  He enjoyed yard work and gardening and grew the best white thin skin potatoes.  He retired after 30 years as a Steel Mill Worker with McClouth Steel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paskel and Edna Leonard Peck; wife of 69 ½ years, Bonnie Peck; grandson, Keith Peck; siblings, Geneva Peck, Troy Peck, Walter Peck, Spurgeon Peck, Imogene Thomas, Rosie Payne, Jerry Peck and Sudie Wilson.

He is survived by his sons, Verlin (Diane) Peck and Michael (Denise) Peck; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kurt) Williams, Kevin Peck, Bryan Peck (Chelsea Davenport), Brandon (Lacrisha) Peck; eight great grandchildren; brothers, James Peck, Richard Peck and Roy Peck; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10:00am until 12:00PM, with funeral service to follow at 12:00PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Masingo officiating.  Music provided by Roy Peck.  Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers, Michael Peck, Kevin Peck, Verlin Peck, Bryan Peck, Brandon Peck and Dennis Payne.
