Judy Hembree, 71 of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at her home. She was born in Barbourville on December 24, 1951, a daughter of the late Rice and Christine Bays Lawson. Judy was a believer in the Baptist Faith and had been a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Hembree and brother, Tyrone Lawson.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Tabitha Smith, Christy Brummett, and Beth Cook; grandchildren, John A. Philpot, Justin Philpot, Jacob Wilder, Destiny Cook, Abigail Cook, Josh Brummett, and Corey Brummett; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Leslie Lawson; brother, Ricky Lawson; special niece, Marsha Root; special nephew, Henry Root; special friend and sister-in-law, Margaret Redmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. William Uhrig presiding. A private burial will follow at a later date at the Detherage Cemetery in Artemus. Pallbearers will be John Philpot, Justin Philpot, Jacob Wilder, Dylan Root, Josh Brummett, and Cory Brummett.
