Joyce Messer Lewis

Joyce Faye Messer Lewis, 79, of Kettle Island, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at her home. She was born in Arjay, April 5, 1933 a daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys Reno Messer. She had been a member of the Calvery Chapel Pentecostal Church and had been a homemaker and avid quilter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, David Mark Lewis and Terry Lee Lewis, Daughter, Bessie Marie Lewis Carnes; father of her children, Tim Lewis; her special friend, Charles Lawson; grandsons, Curtis Ray Lewis and Bryan Edward Carnes; ; brother, Don Saylor and sister, Fern Messer Brock. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Brenda Carolyn and Kenneth Lawson; Linda and Leonard Jr. Smith; Leon Lewis, Tim Jr. and Sheila Lewis; Bryan and Melissa Lewis and Eddie Lewis; grandchildren, Dewayne Lawson, Elaine Noble, Ann Lawson, Jane Brandenburg, Leonard Charles Smith, Thomas Carnes, Jerry Johns, Jowanna Lewis, Lisa Johns, Darby Lewis, Samantha Lewis, Savanna Lewis, Tiffany Lewis, Leon Lewis, Spencer Lewis, Teresa Frye, Joe Lewis, Tony Lewis, Dustin Lewis, Renee Lewis, Becky Muncy, Tim Arthur Lewis and David Lewis; a host of great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Bill and Carol Messer, Wanda Inez Bailey; Ernest Dale and Colleen Messer and Larry and Sueann Messer and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
