Joyce Woolum Fuson

Joyce Woolum Fuson, 96, died peacefully at her home in Middlesboro, KY on July 14, 2022. Born March 16, 1926, in Pineville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Elizabeth Hendrickson Woolum. Joyce was a proud graduate of Pineville High School. She was a longstanding member of The First Baptist Church of Middlesboro. Joyce was the office manager for her husband, Ben’s, dental office in Middlesboro, KY, for many years until their retirement. Joyce loved traveling throughout the country in her younger days and always enjoyed gardening at her home and rescuing and raising dogs. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Benjamin Fuson; son, Dr. Benjamin Thomas Fuson; sister, June Woolum Hill; brothers, William ‘Bill’ Woolum and Charles Woolum. Joyce was blessed with many wonderful caregivers and neighbors the last few years of her life for whom she and her family were so thankful. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and close friends. A private burial service will be held for her at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Bell County Animal Shelter.
