Joseph “Joe” Donald Lee King, 38 a former resident of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on June 5, 2022, in Dade City, Florida from complications he suffered after being struck down by a hit and run driver. Joe was born in Pineville, Kentucky on June 26, 1983, a son of Tammy and Donald King. He had been a general contractor. Joe was a loving son, proud father, caring brother, and faithful friend. He was a talented carpenter and was ready to take on a project for any of his friends. Joe enjoyed grilling and was always eager to cook a meal for anyone that could gather. Joe was a believer in the Baptist Faith. Joe attended Pineville High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was an avid fan of the Pineville Mountain Lions and the Kentucky Wildcats. Joe most recently found a love for rabbit dogs in the Beagler world. Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe Napier of Arjay, Kentucky; paternal grandparents, Sherrill and Dorothy King of Fourmile, Kentucky; and aunt, Ginger Carroll King of Fourmile, Kentucky. Left to mourn his passing are his children, Landon Lee King of Pineville, Kentucky, and Gage Jodon King of Oakridge, Tennessee; niece, Anna Mills King; aunts and uncles, George Napier of Hazard, Kentucky, Joetta and Bruce Howard of Harrogate, Tennessee, Sherrill and Brandy King of Middlesboro, Kentucky; sisters and brothers, Jenniffer G. King and Scott Chaney of Tazewell, Tennessee, Jared Lee King of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Brandon King of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Crystal Collett of LaFollette, Tennessee; Joe leaves behind a host of cousins and friends. Joe will be greatly missed, but I know that we’ll be together again someday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wagner presiding. Music will be provided by Julie Wagner. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middleboro. Pallbearers will be Dillon Peters, Landon King, Robert Bishop, Jared King, and Kevin Cloud. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the King Family.
