Johnny H. Payne

John H. Payne, born 12-21-43, the longest night of his mother's life, shed the mortal coil 8-6-14. He claimed to be a lover not a fighter, but those who knew him knew he was both. Shaped by his family and beloved Lone Mountain community, he learned to be fiercely loyal to those he loved, generous to those in need, and devoted to the word of God. The legacy he leaves to future generations is, "Be decent."

Preceded in death by parents, John Howard & Mary Ellen Bryan Payne. Survived by his wife of years 41, Jackie; his sons, John Tom (Judy), Cody (Alesha), Josh, and Matt (Carrie); his daughters, Jacqui and Mary (Dan Cypra); grandchildren, Miranda, Tipton, Owen, Robert, Jeremiah, Micah, Hannah, Isabella, John; great-grandchild, Enoch. Brothers- Fate Payne & Bryan Payne, Sister - Cissy (& Larry) Payne Stanifer, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He will be missed, but the legend lives. Visitation 9-10:30 AM Friday Aug. 8. at Reece Funeral Home. Graveside to follow 11 AM at The Payne Cemetery.
