Johnnie Brock, 78 of Stoney Fork, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was born in Pineville on October 25,1945, a son of the late Dewey McKinley and Cecil Grace Brock. Johnnie had been a coal miner for Goodin and Goodin in Greasy Creek and Kettle Island.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Lefevers Brock; and siblings, Dewey Charles Brock, Lavone Edward “Red” Brock, Terry Vernon Brock, Deneane Brock, Darwin Douglus Brock, and Laura Ann Brock.
Johnie is survived by his son, John Greg Brock; daughter-in-law, Jen Hunter; granddaughter, Lexie Brock; brothers, Jackie Dewayne Brock and George Lealand Brock; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Mill Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Astor Simpson presiding. Music will be provided by Mickey Wilder and Julie Goodin. Burial will follow at the Dewey M and Cecil M Brock Cemetery in Kettle Island. Pallbearers will be Harvey Elliott, Stewart Bryant, Matthew Polly, and Jason Pauley.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Mill Creek Baptist Church.
