John Michael Lefevers, 71 of Pineville, Kentucky, passed on from his earthly life to be with his lord and savior on Monday, June 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by family and friends. John was born on April 29, 1950 in Pineville to the late George Lefevers and late Phronia Howard Lefevers. John attended and graduated from Pineville High School in 1968 before pursuing a career in education at Cumberland College. John loved teaching and was employed in the Bell County School System for over 30 years where he was a teacher and Principal up until his retirement. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. John’s most enjoyable times though were spent with his family, friends, and church family at Community Harvest Tabernacle where he served as a deacon. John’s Testimony was an inspiration to many people. He loved the lord and worked hard to encourage others through many Facebook posts. John’s faith was demonstrated in how he loved. His favorite bible verse was Philippines 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Flora Mattingly and Wanda Faye Lefevers. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Daniels Lefevers; sons, Will Lefevers and John David Lefevers and wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Bayler Lefevers, James Isaac Lefevers, and Hayden Thomas Lefevers; sisters, Judy Lefevers and Georgiana Jo Miller; and a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends and church family. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. David Rice, Rev. Paul Long, Justin Daniels, and Scott Madon presiding. Music will be provided by Sherry Lindsay, Gail Hensley, and Jill Rice. Burial will be on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Bayler Lefevers, Mikey Long, Justin Daniels, Scott Daniels, Thad McCarty, Phillip Daniels, and Shawn Fugate II. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff at Vanderbilt Hospital and his life-long friends and family. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lefevers Family.
