John Wayne Johnson, 85 of Fourmile, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his home. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on September 16, 1938, a son of the late Robert Littleton and Bessie Shepherd Johnson. John was a member of the Abundant Harvest Church and had been a coal miner and electrician.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Johnson; his siblings, Robert Lee Johnson Sr., Loraine Williams, Elsie Baker, Marie Jacob, Betty Dodd, Dorothy Goforth.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baird Johnson; children, Sheila Johnson, Ronnie and Janet Johnson, Charles and Michelle Johnson, Luke and Alisa Johnson, Tammy and Dale Middaugh, Gregory Dean Johnson and Elizabeth Warren, Angela Johnson and Charles Girdner, and Shawn and Johnny Daniels; grandchildren, Amber and Adam Smith, Dustin and Susan Johnson, Cameron and Whitney Johnson, Sequoyah and Adam Brambley, Addison and Katherine Middaugh, Kristen Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Jeremiah and Melissa Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Justin and Amanda Reed, Jamie and LaShay Reed, Hailey Reed and Parker McCarty, and Dalton and Anyssia Daniels; great-grandchildren, Trenton Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Ryker Johnson, Isaiah Smith, Amelia Smith, Skylar Gray, Ellie Grace Middaugh, Makaya Patterson, Brynlee Dean, Kiara Cloud, Abagail Johnson, Aubree Collett, Maverick Johnson, Alivia Reed, Avery Reed, Leah Reed, Samuel Reed, Remington Senters, Indiana Mason, Liliana Mason, John Wayne Mason, Alayiah Daniels, and Ander Daniels; sister, Elise and Donnie Wagner; special nephew, Theodore Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. James Hatfield and Alisa Johnson presiding. Music will be provided by Billy Baird, Sequoyah Brambly, Skylar Gray, Makaya Patterson, Kari Johnson, and Katrina Wilson.
Burial will follow at the Chenoa Cemetery in Frakes. Pallbearers will be Justin Reed, Jeremiah Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Jamie Reed, Dalton Daniels, Cameron Johnson, and Addison Middaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Girdner, Bill Lane, Mike Johnson, Tommy Stewart, Joe Vaughn, Roger, and Larry Baird.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Johnson Family.
