John Mark Hatfield

John Mark Hatfield, 59 of New Tazewell, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Benham on September 15, 1963, a son of the late Jack and Ruby Fields Hatfield. John had worked in mobile home transportation and had also worked in the coal mines for 17 years.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Hatfield; nephew, Konte Hatfield; and niece, Stacy Pennington.


John is survived by his daughters, Toni Dunn and her husband, Kyle, and Jaelyn Hatfield; grandson, Jack Dunn; sisters, Belinda and Virgil Brackett, Diane and Dennis Pennington, and Catherine Gayno Smith and her husband, the late Gary Smith; brother, Jeff Hatfield; nieces and nephews, Jason and Lynette Brackett, Matthew Brackett, Eric and Jaspreet Smith, Keiran Hatfield, Kovay Hatfield, Kyler Hatfield, Jacob Pennington, Jessica and Cody Brown, Derek and Taylor Hatfield, and Azaria and Charlie Bowman; and a host of other relatives and friends.


A memorial service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Coal Miner’s Memorial Park in Benham.
