John Cordes, age 80, of Speedwell, TN, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away February 24, 2008 at Claiborne County Hospital. Born Dec. 21, 1927 in Long Island, NY, a son of Anton and Mary Cordes. He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church, a veteran of WW II and was a volunteer fireman with SVFD.
