John Brock, 91 of Beverly, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at his home. He was born in Beverly on July 10, 1931, a son of the late Hugh and Celetta Brock. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served as a basic security and guard man, and was a rifle sharpshooter. Following the military, John worked as a coal miner for several years. He retired from the Red Bird Mission, where he worked in maintenance. He was a devoted husband and father. John enjoyed hunting, gardening, going to church and spending time with his family. He believed in the Holiness Faith and attended Rocky Point Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hester Knuckles, Susie Helton, Carrie Knuckles and Nettie Helton; brothers, McKinley Brock and Richmond Brock; son-in-law, Samps Caldwell; and great-grandchild Ava Chloe Caldwell. John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Beulah Brock; daughters, Bertha Partin and husband, Jerry, and Eva Caldwell; grandchildren, Natasha Dick and husband, Zan, Samantha Caldwell, and Amanda Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Cayden John Lawson, Sophie Grace Lawson, Alexander Colt Day, Aedyn Cole Dick, Adilyn Jane Wilson, Jaden Caldwell, and Tootsie Caldwell; brother, Connie Brock and wife, Ethel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Lowe presiding. Music will be provided by Hester Helton. Burial will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Jerry Partin, Zan Dick, Cayden John Lawson, Alexander Colt Day, Joey Saylor, David Helton, Gary Helton, and Michael Brock. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Brock Family.
