John R. Bob Byrd

John R. "Bob" Byrd age 83 of Cumberland Gap passed away May 9, 2015. Born May 13, 1931 to the late Doyle & Nora Evans Byrd. He was a member of Carrs Chapel Baptist Church and Veteran of The Korean War. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by wife Ina Ruth Humfleet Byrd, brothers- Marvin Byrd & William "Bill" Byrd and sisters- Ina Lee Yeary & Kathleen Fultz.

Survivors include: Son- Doyle & wife patricia Byrd of White Pine, Daughter- Linda Byrd of Seymour, Brothers- George Byrd and Fred Byrd both of Middlesboro, Special friend- Kelsey Johnson, Caregivers- Janet Johnson, Maxine Cheek, Angie Mize & Jo Burchfield and a host of nieces nephews family and friends.

Funeral Service 7 PM Tuesday May 12 at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Donnie Banister officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7. Burial 1 PM Wednesday at the Carrs Chapel Cemetery with full military honors provided by Tri County Veterans Honor Guard.
