Joe Walter "J.W" Evans

Joe Walter (JW) Evans was a man with a larger than life presence. Born January 13th 1942 to Hazel Robbins Lamb and Jacob Eugene Evans in Middlesboro, KY. J.W. departed this world on July 3rd2019. He left a hole in the heart of his family and will be sorely missed by all. He spent 58 years married to the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Green Evans. Together they welcomed two daughters Teresa Ann Evans, Veronica Sue Evans Hurd and a son Adam Cory Evans. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Hazel Robbins Lamb; father, Jacob Eugene Evans and niece Chloe Lamb. J.W. loved his country and had the privilege of serving on the USS Galveston in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate. He proudly served during the years 1959 to 1963 and participated in the Bay of Pigs invasion. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughters Teresa Evans and Veronica Evans Hurd, son Adam (Rachael) Evans, granddaughters Sara (Tyler) Mills and Katherine Hurd, grandsons Hayden Evans and Wallace Evans, and great-grandsons James and Brody Mills. Along with brothers Jerry(Brenda) Evans of Harrogate, TN, Donnie(Hattie) Evans of Norfolk, VA, Charlie(Patty) Evans of Ft. Myers, FL, David(Robin) Lamb of Harrogate, TN, and Mark(Lisa) Lamb of Harrogate, TN, sister Brenda Gail Thomas of Middlesboro, KY and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Evans Family.
