Joann Gambrel

Joann Brock Gambrel, 60, of Rose Hill, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin. She was born in Beverly, KY on August 10, 1956 a daughter of the late Farmer, Sr., and Laura Saylor Brock. She was a member of Elydale Pentecostal Holiness Church and had worked as a teacher's aide in the Bell County School System for many years, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernita Brock and father-in-law, Robert Gambrel. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, James Gambrel, children, Scott Gambrel, Kimberly Lankford and husband, Curtis, and Jeremy Gambrel; grandchildren, Curtis William Lankford, II, Caleb Bradley Lankford and Holden Jace Gambrel; sister, Shirley Lankford, brother, Farmer Brock, Jr.; mother-in-law, Hester Gambrel; extra special sister-in-law, Anna Marie Gambrel; friend, Maggie Brock and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at the Elydale Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Randy Smith, Mr. Chester Thomas and Pastor Ronnie Hoskins. Music will be by the Church Singers. Burial will be in the Gambrel Family Cemetery at Rose Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons, family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Friday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the Elydale Pentecostal Holiness Church.
