Jimmy Helton, 73 of Kettle Island, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Kettle Island on December 24, 1949, a son of the late Gilbert and Nettie Brock Helton. Jimmy was a member of the Old Kettle Island Holiness Church and had worked on the Track Gang of CSX Railroad for over 33 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jason ‘JJ”, and sister, Rosie.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Haynes Helton; children, Jody, Missy Beth (Billy), Jennifer (Jim), Cheryl (Cory), Jaime (Blake), Jimmy Wayne, Willie, Tiffany (Michael), Jacob (Angel), Nettie (Tyler), Joses, and Kesia (Austin); 21 grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Bryanna, Kim, Zachary, Preston, Logan, Spencer, Kenzley, Isaac, Amelia, Wyatt, Emma, Jaxson, Abby, Grayson, Layla, Ayvah, Kaelynn, Grayson, and Teegun; special daughters-in-law, Becky and Amanda; siblings, Shirley, Mabel, Linda, Wanda, Larry, Mona, Joyce, Gilbert Wayne, Gracie Mae, Herchel, Wenford, and Alice; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Old Kettle Island Holiness Church with a host of Holiness Ministers presiding. Music will be provided by the members of Old Kettle Island Holiness Church. Burial will follow at the Red Hill Cemetery in Arjay. Pallbearers will be Jim Hill, Dustin Beverly, Billy Self, Michael Freels, Cory Smith, and Austin Burchett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Helton Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
