Jimmy Charles Gambrel

Jimmy Charles Gambrel, 71, of Dorton Branch, passed away on April 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Pineville, September 26, 1946 to the late Curt and Irene Hammons Gambrel. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. Jim worked at Gambrel-Madon Motors, Howard Chrysler, was an Insurance agent with Commonwealth aka Monumental Insurance and was a Bus Driver with Bell County Board of Education. He served in the Kentucky National Guard. Jim enjoyed volunteering at Wasioto Winds Golf Course, playing golf, hunting and watching UK ballgames. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debbie Turner Gambrel; son and daughter-in-law, Charles David and Hope Gambrel; granddaughters, Britton, Kylee and Mckinley Gambrel; sister and brother-in-law, Londa and Larry Sowders; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Ronnie Brock; special friend to Jimmy and Debbie, Malinda Brock and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Sowders, Sr. and Rev. Jeff Tingle. Music will be by Donna Mills. Burial will follow in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be Larry Sowders, Jr., Jamie Sowders, Jeff Brock, Nathan Hack, Asa Mills and Gage McGeorge. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Jim's many friends, who are to numerous to name.
