Jim T. Deaton

Jim T. Deaton, 74, of Arjay, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care. He was born in Knox County on June 26, 1939 the son of the late Robert Lee and Lillie Mills Deaton. He had been a coal truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Charlie and Bessie Jackson. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Wanda Jackson Deaton, son, Chuck Deaton and wife, Martha; daughter, Sherrie Deaton Childers and husband, David; grandchildren, Alex Walters, Madison Walters, Andrew Childers, Nicole and Matt Smith, Christopher Deaton and Hannah Deaton; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Josiah Smith and Caleb Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jackson Gibbons and Ralph, Lewis and Dora Jackson, Don Jackson and family at Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care. Services will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 12 Noon at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Wagner. Burial will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens at Middlesboro with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center , Pineville, which is honored to serve the Deaton Family.
