Jim Brummett

Jim Brummett, 68 of Arjay, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Pineville on April 19, 1954, a son of the late William and Kelsey Cox Brummett. Jim had been a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Marianne Hubbard Brummett; sister, Sue Neff; sister-in-law, Doylene Brummett; and brother-in-law, Charles Lee.

Jim is survived by his children and their spouses, Christopher and Nouha Brummett of Monrovia, Indiana, Jennie and Terry Hubbard of Manchester, Kentucky, David Brummett of Arjay, Kentucky, Lindsey Brummett of Florida, Savannah Brummett of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Breanna and Dakota Brummett, and Dion and DaMichael Brown of Arjay, Kentucky; grandchildren, Shannon Brummett, Leah and DJ Edwards, Logan Brummett, Aws and Ahmed Bensalha, Mark Gregory, Matthew Gregory, David Brummett, Jr., and Skyla Ellis; great grandchildren, Letty and Ledger Edwards; brothers and sisters, Freda Lee, Earl and Lyn Brummett, Ray and Charlotte Brummett, Millard Brummett, and Alice and Tim Brummett; special nephew, William Brummett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church with Rev. Randall Beverly and Rev. Gary Wagner presiding. Burial will follow at the Brummett Cemetery in Simms Fork. Pallbearers will be Mark Gregory, Matthew Gregory, DaMichael Brown, Dion Brown, David Brummett, Jr., and Dakoda Smith.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arjay Pentecostal Church.
