Jerry Wayne Evans

Jerry Wayne Evans, 67 of Pineville, Ky passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. He was born in Bell County, Ky the son of McCoy and Stella Owens Evans on September 6, 1951. Jerry was a member of the Centers Branch Baptist Church and served his county in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his father, McCoy Evans; sisters, Doris Ann Murray and Vanessa Gaye Evans; grandson, Kenny Ray Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Berniece Gibson Evans; children, Priscilla Evans Taylor and husband Garrett Wayne Taylor, Jr., Jerry Wayne Evans, Jr. and wife Angel Evans, Matthew William Evans and fiancé Cheyenne Bingham, Jennifer Bays Marsee and husband Johnathan Marsee and Tiffany Bays; 9 grandchildren; mother, Stella Owens Evans; brothers, David (Linda) Evans, Charles Edward Evans and Billy Douglas Evans; sisters, Norma Jean Kelley, Nancy Ellen (Raymond) Wright, Kathleen (Tommy) Johnson and Patricia (Edward) Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 22 at 2:00PM at Centers Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Givens, Rev. Mike Brooks and Rev. David Hoskins. Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery in Centers Branch, with the Harlan Honor Guard providing full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Matthew Evans, Jerry Evans, Dawson Taylor, Jason Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Billy Evans, Jason Wright, Raymond Wright, Scotty Wright and Joe Harrell. The family will receive friends beginning Saturday, July 20 at 2:00PM until the funeral hour on Monday at the Centers Branch Baptist Church, which is located just off of KY Highway 92 on Centers Branch Road.
