Jerry Wayne Cox

Jerry Wayne Cox. 65 of Sims Fork in Arjay, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Southeast Kentucky Medical Center in Pineville. He was born in Pineville on June 12, 1953 and was the son of the late James and Ceretta Cox. Jerry had been a coal miner and enjoyed farming and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Brock Cox; brothers, Paul Cox and Hobert Cox; sister, Chanie Caldwell; six infant siblings; brother-in-law, Bobby Hoskins, and sister-in-law, Trish Cox. Survivors include his children, Jonathan Cox and companion, Kim Honeycutt, and Amy Jackson and husband, Michael; granddaughter, Autumn Jackson; his longtime companion, Malinda Brock; brothers, Walter Ballou and wife, Shirley, Larry Cox, Hubert Cox and wife, Marcella; sisters, Sara Fuson and husband, Ed, Minnie Sinsabaugh and husband, Mike, and Rosie Hoskins; brother-in-law, James Caldwell; sister-in-law, Martha Cox; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 8 at Saylor's Pentecostal Church in Crockett with Rev. Ronnie Hoskins. Music will be by church family. Burial will follow in the Brummett Cemetery at Sims Fork with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Trampas Nolan. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, and after 9 PM on Monday until funeral hour Tuesday at Saylor's Pentecostal Church in Crockett.
