Jerlis Ann Napier, 73 of Flat Lick, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Saint Jospeh Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Pineville on March 14, 1952, a daughter of the late Rayfield and Sarah Jane Daniel Gibson. Jerlis had been a teacher for the Bell County School System.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Napier, Sr.; brothers, Willie Gibson and Ronnie Gibson; and sister, Doris Simpson.
Jerlis is survived by her sons, Steve and Lori Partin, Ross and Melissa Napier, Jr., and Joseph Napier; grandchildren, Presley Partin, Steven Partin, Abigail Napier, Reid Napier, Dillon Napier, Gabriel Napier, and Bentley Sumner; brother, Bill and Kelly Gibson; sisters, Iva Stewart and Teresa and Leaman Saylor; brother-in-law, Kirby Simpson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Salem #2 Baptist Church in Clear Creek with Rev. Allen Mason, Rev. Dean Saunders, and Rev. David Fuson. Music will be provided by Mack Partin and Misti Short. Burial will follow at the Gibson Cemetery in Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be Reed Napier, Lewis Gray, Jerry Smith, Christian Mason, Ricky Plecher, Tyler Potter, Lane Hoskins, Steven Partin, Cole Hoskins, Branden Plecher, Austin Daniels, Rodney Smith, Bruce Mills, Colton Price, Ricky Hobbs, and Jeff Phipps.
Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Napier Family.
