Jeretta “Rita” Brock Hoskins, 64, of Calvin, KY went to her heavenly home on
Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on October 3,
1958. Rita was a member of the Crockett Pentecostal Church and served the
people by her husband’s side for the past 30 years. She loved helping people and
always had a kind word to say.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, the Reverend Elmer Brock and Christine
Napier Brock; two sisters, Gearldine Whitehead and Willene Brock; her mother-
in-law and father-in-law, Ross and Ellene Hoskins; two brothers-in-law, Caleb
Nolan and Lonnie Whitehead; a granddaughter, Taylor Guthrie; and a nephew,
Greg Brock.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, the Reverend Ronnie Hoskins, Calvin;
two daughters, Kristie Guthrie and husband, the Reverend B.J. Guthrie, Evarts;
and Dawn Holland, Pineville; a daughter and son that she claimed as her own,
Jake and Janeen Lawson, Arjay; two brothers, Homer Brock and wife, Carolyn,
Stoneyfork, KY; and David Brock and wife, Lola, Ewing, VA; and two brothers-in-
law, the Reverend Michael Hoskins and wife, Pam, London; and Donald Hoskins
and wife, Karen, Floyds Knob, IN. Also left to mourn her passing are her
grandchildren, Haley and Corey Guthrie; Rayawna and Abby Holland; Courtney,
Dustin and Aubree Dixon; Shawn, Hunter and DJ Lawson; another expected in
July; many others to whom she was known as Memaw or Nana; and a host of
nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Her visitation will be held at the Crockett Pentecostal Church at Crockett after 5
pm Friday, anytime Saturday and up until the funeral hour on Sunday.
Her funeral will be conducted Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 12 noon at the Crockett
Pentecostal Church with the Reverend Richard Asher, the Reverend Richard Long,
the Reverend Woody Fields and the Reverend Michael Lawson officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Brummett Cemetery at Arjay.
Pallbearers will be Jake, Shawn, Dalton and Hunter Lawson, Dustin Dixon,
Anthony Caldwell, Timothy Lankford and Shawn Hoskins.
