Janice Elberta Davis Stover

Janice Elberta Davis Stover, 86, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrogate. She was born on November 13, 1939 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and was a daughter of the late Elbert Lincoln and Melvina Wilcox Davis. Janice received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee. Later, she received her Master's degree from the Lincoln Memorial University. Janice taught the fourth grade at Forge Ridge Consolidated School for many years until her retirement.

Janice was a member of Shawanee Baptist Church and she enjoyed staying active by bowling in local leagues, knitting and crocheting, teaching others how to knit and crochet, and visiting with family and friends throughout her community sharing stories and good times. She like to make candies and disperse them among her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Leah Gomez; sister, Patsy Maynard; and brothers, Jacob Davis, and Paul Davis.

Survivors include her daughters, Paige Gomez and husband Michael, and Jana Stover and husband Shawn Ericson; granddaughter, Hope Gomez-Peck and husband Greg Peck; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Peck; great-grandson, Carson Peck; a loving circle of extended family, including her dear niece, Jean Cline and husband Dennis; great-nieces and nephews, Levi and Ryn Rowlett, Jedidiah and Whittney Rowlett, Caitlyn and Grant Parker, and Caleigh Cline; great-grandnieces and nephews, Taylor and Teagan Rowlett, Hunter and Sterling Rowlett, Carsyn Parker, and Jacob Criswell; and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 26 at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Donnie Fox. A private inurnment will take place at the Davis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and celebrate Janice's life and love, after 5:00 PM Saturday until funeral hour at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to be serving Janice’s family and loved ones. Feel free to come in vibrant colors that Janice loved like pink, aqua, and red (the colors she loved). In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Yoakum Cemetery or Harrogate Book Station.
