Janet Sue (Mccoy) Sands

Janet Sue Sands, 83 of Harrogate, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in Fonde, Kentucky on May 20, 1941and was the daughter of the late Roy and Edith Demarcus McCoy.

In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Sands; her sons, Melvel and Clark Mayes; and brothers, Junior, Bobby and Danny McCoy.

Janet is survived by her son, Charlie “Hank” Meyers; granddaughters, Kimberly Jackson and Erica Meyers; great-granddaughters, Madison Miller and Skylar Mangum; sister, Patsy Lawson; special friend, Dorothy Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend an expression of gratitude to the staff of TriState Heath and Rehab for their excellent care of Janet during her time there.

At Janet’s request, private funeral services are being cared for by the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, TN, which is honored to be serving the Sands Family.
