Jane Lee Saylor, 78 of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her home. She was born in French Lick, Indiana on January 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Ferdinand Severn Ulrich and Virgil Naomi Hobbs. Jane was a member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church where she made the draperies and the covers for the pews. She was a witty and creative artist with many paintings. She was eager to help people, loved her family and church family, and was known to be a great cook. Jane had been a Deputy Clerk for the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, JoAnn Wohlgemuth and Faith Wiberg, and brother, Adam Bible.
Jane is survived by her son, Wilkie Wayne Saylor and wife, Tara; daughter, Debbie Jane Garrett and husband, Eric; grandchildren, James Saylor and John Saylor; step-grandson, Josh Garrett; “grandma” to Arianna Broughton and Jacob Broughton; sister, Wynona “Nonie” Wukich; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jane’s caretakers, Jimmy and Laura Elliott, Bennie Blanton, Janice Gipson, and Lisa Hubbard.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. James Polly presiding. Music will be provided by the Victory Missionary Baptist Church Singers. Burial will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be James Saylor, John Saylor, Jacob Broughton, Eric Garrett, James Polly, and Jimmy Elliott.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Saylor Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
