James H. "Jim" Welch age 60 passed away October 2, 2010 He was born in Claiborne County September 14, 1950. He was a member of the Powell Valley Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Ella Mae Brewer Welch and son James Gilbert Welch. Survivors: Wife: Diana Welch Speedwell, Tn. Sons: David C. Welch Speedwell, Tn. Chuck A. (Adrianne) Welch Speedwell, Tn. The mothers of Jim's grandchildren: Tracy Welch of Speedwell, Tn. (She's like the daughter he never had), Ashley R. Welch Tazewell, Tn. Lisa Lambert, Cumberland Gap, TN.; Brother: Benny F. ( Regina) Welch Barnsville, Ga. Sisters: Peggy Heck (Dorwood) LaFollette, Tn. Billie England (O.D.) LaFollette, Tn. Pat Monday (Glen) Speedwell, Tn. Judy Bolinger ( Junior) Speedwell, Tn. Seven grandchildren: Morgan, Kaylee, Kyla, Kate, Abby, Tanna, and Kole Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Reece valley Chapel with Tommy Burford officiating. Music by New Salem Baptist Church Singers. Graveside services to follow in the Welch Cemetery.
