James Lee "Hughie" Washam, 72 of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home. He was born in Bell County, Kentucky on September 27, 1946, and was a son of the late Herbert and Evelyn Wilson Washam. Hughie was a believer in the Pentecostal faith and had worked for Collett Construction as a mason and laborer. Survivors include his sisters, Janetta Hubbard and husband, Curtis and Janet Smith and husband, Carl; brother, Ronnie Washam and wife, Vickie; special nephew, Dustin Layne as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 25 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Eli Broughton and Rev. Jeff Tingle. Music will be by Darrell Lord. Burial will follow in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens at East Pineville. Pallbearers will be Curtis Hubbard, Michael Hubbard, Carl Smith, Christopher Smith, Thomas Wilson and Billy Smith. Honorary pallbearer is Trinity Blevins. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Washam family.
