James Wesley "Jimmy" Turner

James Wesley 'Jimmy' Turner, 60, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home in Ferndale, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born in Ferndale on May 12, 1957, and was a son of the late William Wesley and Clarsie Frances Hensley Turner. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and had worked as a miner and in security for coal companies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Beach and brother, Tommy Turner. Left to mourn his passing are his two sons, Shaun Turner and Amanda of Pineville, and Ryan Turner and Angela of Flat Lick; grandchildren, Chase, Cody and Cameron Turner, Alexandria Phillips, and Evan, McKenna and Blake Turner, all of whom he adored; a special nephew and niece-in-law, Doug and Dena Turner and great-niece, Randi Turner, whom he lived with, along with his sister, Wanda Turner, all of Ferndale; brother and sisters, Wendell (Olivia) Turner of San Antonio, TX, Mary (Otis) Baker of Corbin, KY, Louie (Allene) Turner of Ewing, VA, Robert 'Bobby' Turner of Middlesboro, KY and Larry (Sharon) Turner of Hemet, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jimmy had a love of fishing, spending time with his friends, especially his best bud, Freddy Mason, watching westerns and 'good' bluegrass and rock music. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. The family will host a memorial service at Jimmy's home, located at 60 Buell Hill Road in Ferndale, on Thursday at 6:00PM. Private cremation services were entrusted to the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Turner family.
