James 'Ed' Ray, 92, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Tri-State Nursing and Rehab in Harrogate, TN. He was born in Williamsburg, KY on January 1, 1923 a son of the late William and Eliza Griffiths Ray. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a retired florist and Boat Dock owner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Kenneth, Lee Clayton and Garvey. Survivors include his wife, Goldie Hendrickson Ray; sisters, Louella Taylor and Reba Jones; nieces and nephews, Lynne Pickrell, Mary Allard, Brenda Boone, Connie Tetreau, Sharon Heidt, Diana Morgan, Pam Carper, Bill Jones and Clayton Ray and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be at 12 Noon on Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Suntken. Music will be by Brian Robbins. Burial will be in the Hendrickson Cemetery at Four Mile with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military Honors at the cemetery will be by the Harlan Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Ray Family.
