James “Bigo” Johnson, 58, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Pineville on April 1, 1967, and he was the son of the late Jr. and Edith Stewart Johnson. He really loved to go attend church and sing and he was a very will liked man. He had at SEKRI in Corbin for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Hunk Johnson and sisters, Elsie Johnson and Carol Johnson.
Bigo is survived by his wife of 20 years, Beverly Dial Johnson; daughter, Cassie Mason and Cody; son, Christopher and Santana Saylor; grandchildren, Kayannna Rose Saylor and Jovi Rain-Lynn Saylor; brothers and sisters, Van and Henrietta Johnson, Frank and Lisa Johnson, Mike and Tina Johnson, Rita Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Marty and Jerry Rodgers, RJ Johnson and Rickie Sue Johnson; his furry friends, Doc, Ella Bluey, Simba, Snoopy and Indi; and a host niece, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Brother John Whitehead presiding. The music will be provided by Beverly and Randy, John Whitehead, Karri and Katrina Johnson, Hannah, and Eric Jordan and the Living Water Choir. Pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, Frank Johnson, Bo Browning, Bo Stewart, Bryson Wallace, Randy Pate, and Chandler Baker, and Christopher. Honorary pallbearers will be Kayanna Rose Saylor, Jovi Rain-Lynn Saylor, Cassie Mason, Cody Mason, Karri and Katrina Wilson, Missy Rogers, Lisa Gilbert and Mack, Thomas, Tammy Fultz, Jennifer Rogers, Rick, Doug, and Kurt.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Johnson Family. We invite you to light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register.
