James Austin Graves, age 56 passed away at Fort Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville TN on Dec. 7, 2010. He was born on Feb. 19, 1954. James was a lifelong resident of Speedwell and a graduate of Powell Valley High School. He retired from Middlesboro ARH after 26 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his Harley. James accepted Christ and was active in his church, Shipley Grove Church of God in Speedwell.

He is preceded in death by beloved parents: Grover& Lucy Ann Graves and grandparents: James & Doxie Graves and Calvin & Upil Suttles.

Survivors include: Wife- Carolyn, beloved daughter - Amy Lynn and Ted Fortner, and grandson Theodore Logan James Fortner who was the light of his life. Brother - Ricky Lee Graves of Tazewell; four sisters: Martha Evans of Tazewell, Sandra & David Russell of Speedwell, Tammy & Tyler Greene of Morristown and Sherry & Ralph Smith of LaFollette and a very special nephew, Larry Dean Evans Jr. of Tazewell, also by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Gaylor and Rev. Jody Moore officiating. Music by Jody Moore and the Bolton Family Singers. Visitation 5-8 PM. Graveside service 2 PM Friday at The Moyers Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brad McNew, Mike Moyers, Roger Evans, Stan Hoskins, Mike Idol, Rick Rigsby.
