James “Enos” Gibson passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Enos, as his friends and family knew him, was born on June 23, 1943, in Bell County, Kentucky, to Bruce and Mary Gibson. He was one of twelve children.
Enos joined the Army and was honorably discharged. He then began a thirty-year career with General Motors working in their Norwood, Ohio plant and retiring in 1996 from the Ft. Wayne, Indiana plant.
Enos and Cassie Collins were united in holy matrimony on October 3, 1966, in Claiborne County, Tennessee. They were married until her death in December 1995. They made their home in Norwood, Ohio
From their union came their only child, a daughter, Jacqueline Michelle (Don) Burris.
Enos is proceeded in death by his mom and dad, brothers; Kenneth, Walter, Gene, and Everette Gibson; sisters Cozetta Webb, Lorene Jones, Zeff Hunley, and Lydia Gibson.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, granddaughter Cassandra (Anthony) Miller from Ft. Worth, Texas; grandson Tyler James Burris of Enid, Oklahoma; great grandson Henry Miller also of Ft. Worth, Texas; special niece, who he adored, Leslie Gibson; a special nephew, Robert Craig Brockman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Per his request, there will be no service and a private family burial at a later date.
Interment will be at Gibson Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia.
