James Orville Edmondson, Jr. age 74, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Physicians Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was born in Middlesboro, KY on February 7, 1943 a son of the late James Orville, Sr. and Meda Bolton Edmondson. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served in the US Air Force for twenty years. James also served as a US Postman for 20 years in the Knoxville area. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, National Rifle Association, Tazewell Historical Society and the Genealogy and History Group at Cumberland Gap.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Trilby Ann Cadle Little Edmondson; three sons and daughters-in-law, James, III and Tammi Lynn Edmondson, Carson Glenn and Kristie LeAnn Edmondson and David Wayne and Michelle Edmondson; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila Karen Dykes and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 6:30 PM Monday, September 11 at the Reece Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Parker presiding. Following the services, at James’ request, he will be cremated.
