James Matthew Eads

James Matthew Eads, 85 of Pathfork, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Harlan ARH Hospital. He was born in Pathfork on February 16, 1929 and was the son of the late Rev. Sillus and Lucy Ellis Eads. James was an honest and hardworking man, having retired as an electrician in the coal mines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Wade Eads; his daughter, Allison Eads; sister, Esther Case and brother, Claude Eads. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Thelma Daniels Eads; children, Kathy Slusher and Bobby, Linda Howard and Robert, Michael Eads and Laurie, Rhonda Collins and Tim; grandchildren, Eric (Melody) Slusher, Rodney Slusher, Jason (Heather) Howard, Allyson Eads, Rachel Danielle (Jesse) Collins-Wood, Sarah Collins, Aaron (Kellie) Eads, Chase Eads, and Jonathan Lemar; great-grandchildren, Cameron Slusher, Nathan Slusher, Madelyn Howard, and Matthew Howard; sister Christine Jones; special friends, Rev. Ron Oplinger, Joe Stewart, and Tommy Dean; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Services will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Blackstar Pentecostal Church with Rev. Ron Oplinger, Rev. J.C. Craig and Rev. Jack Carmichael. Music will be provided by the Blackstar Pentecostal church family. Burial will follow in the Saylor Cemetery with his grandsons, family, and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 until 10 PM Saturday at the Blackstar Pentecostal Church on Highway 72 Pathfork.
