James Dorwood Heck

James Dorwood Heck, age 82, of Speedwell, was born March 20, 1933 to the late Edgar Otto and Hazel Mae Bryant Heck. He left this life January 27, 2016 to go to a better place and walk alongside the Lord. He was preceded in death by two daughters Pamela Heck Lambert and Debbie Heck Roberts.

Survivors include - loving devoted wife of 65 years, Peggy Welch Heck of Speedwell, Brothers and Sisters - Kermitt (& Delois) Heck, JB Heck & Shirley Daughtery, Arweida Heck Evans & Elmer Goins, daughter - Brenda Heck (& Edward) Venable, son - Gregory Dorwood (& Arlene) Heck, grandchildren - Melissa Heck Poore, Shawn Brown, Travis Venable, Shannon Venable Addison, Josh Heck and Tina Brown, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and a host of other relatives and friends including 1st cousin Clarence "Conk" Bryant.

Funeral service will be 7 PM Fri., Jan., 29 at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel. Rev Irvin Gipson officiating. Music provided by Jane Cox. Visitation 5-7. Burial 11 AM Saturday at Loy Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kip Evans, Shawn Brown, Travis Venable, Chuck Welch, David Welch, and Scott Berry. Honorary Pallbearers: Greg Heck and Kelly England.
