James Verlin Cox

Mr. James Verlin Cox, age 68 of New Tazewell, TN was born July 21, 1955 in Harrogate, TN and passed away January 3, 2024 at the Claiborne Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas and Donnie Cox, first wife; Sheila Cox, brothers; Luther Cox, Charles Cox, sisters; Marie Bailey, Bonnie Hill, Martha Wheatley and Barbara Smither.

James is survived by his loving wife of 8 years; Barbara Cox, brother; Nathan Louis Cox, sister; Mildred Smith and husband Jerry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 12PM until 2PM with funeral services to follow at 2PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery.
