James Earnest "Chicken" Brock, Sr., 81, of Mill Creek, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Pineville Community Health Center. He was born on May 23, 1942, in Mill Creek, Kentucky, and was the son of the late June and Virgie Helton Brock. Chicken was a retired coal truck driver and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Brock; brothers, Bobby Brock and Jerry Caldwell; and sister, Patricia Caldwell.
Survivors include his children, James Earnest Brock, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Randy Brock and wife, Eva, Candy Brock Partin, Gene Brock and wife, Stephanie, Bobbi Cobb and husband, Casey, Anna Brock and husband, Norman, and Derrick Brock and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Allen Brock, James Brock, Stevie Landrum, Kimberly Epley, Christopher Partin, Matthew Partin, Brock Eubanks, Derrick Brock, Hunter Brock, Nathan Brock, Sam Brock, Rebecca Brock, Jenna Bland, Alicia Blevins, Michael Brock, Randy Brock, Kaitlyn Brock; great-grandchildren, Hailey Brock, McKenzi Brock, Lorelai Brock, Alex Partin, Abel Partin, Audriana Partin, Cooper Epley, Camden Epley, Sadie Epley, Derrick Brock, Ellie Bland, Kira Bland, Alexis Bland, Zayden Pogue, Willow Blevins, Axyl Blevins and Gareth Brock; brothers, Phillip Caldwell and Eugene Caldwell; sister, Shirley Brock; best friend; Dennis Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Don Messer officiating. Burial Will follow in the Brock Family Cemetery at Mill Creek with Brock Eubanks, Christopher Partin, Matthew Partin, DJ Brock, Hunter Brock and Nathan Brock serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearer is Dennis Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Brock Family.
