Irene Widener

Irene Marie Widener, 94, of Jenson, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Cannelburg, IN on September 3, 1913, the daughter of the late Rena Wilson and Frank Webber and she was raised by Gillis and Catherine Wilson. She was a member of the Middlesboro Church of Christ and had been a clerk at Scott?s Store and Laundry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Sanders and a great-grandson, Scott Widener. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Harold Widener, Sr and Mary Gilbert Widener of Cincinnati, Howard Widener of Corbin, Billy E. and Iris Widener of Corbin, Louise and Hargis Jones of Frankfort, Charles and Vickie Widener of Monrovia, IN, Bobby and Linda Widener of Harrogate and John C. and Julie Widener of Frankfort; son-in-law, J.B. Sanders of Jenson; grandchildren, Harold Ray, Jr. and Kathie Widener, Kenneth Frank and Vicky Widener, Peggy and Doug Greer, Elizabeth and Jeff Maguet, Teresa and John Parton, Sherrie Sanders, Billy Widener, Jr., Lisa and Randy Jackson, Steve and Jenny Jones, Tina and Ryan Bryant, Donald Jones, Judy and Jan Astrouski, Tammy and Danny Lee, Mike and Terri Widener, Bill Roman, Shannon and Darrin Marley, Charles F., II and Kelly Widener, Danita and Chad Biliter, Robin and Shane Cox, John C. Widener, Jr., Christy Widener, Heather Powell and Bobby S. Widener; forty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Brother Dale Turner. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be Harold Ray Widener, Jr., Kenneth Frank Widener, Billy Widener, Jr., Steve Jones, Donald Jones, Mike Widener, Charles F. Widener, Jr., John C. Widener, Jr. and Bobby S. Widener. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Fugate, Sheriff Bruce Bennett, Harold McGeorge and Charles ?Shorty? Widener. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
