Irene Johnson

Irene Johnson, 72 of Stoney Fork, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the Middlesboro ARH. She was born in Red Bird on January 20, 1951, a daughter of Andrew and Janie Mills Saylor. Irene was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Johnson; father, Andrew Saylor; and brother, JB Saylor.

Irene is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Freddie Johnson; mother, Janie Mills Saylor; brothers, Frank Saylor and his wife, Charlotte, William James Saylor, Andy Saylor and his wife, Bonnie, Sim Saylor and his wife, Angelia, and T. Jay Saylor; sister, Susie Brock and her husband, James; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Demus Couch, Rev. Chris Turner, Rev. Ben Mosley, and Rev. Donald Wilson presiding. Burial will follow at the Johnson Saylor Cemetery in Stoney Fork with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
