Ira Smith, 75 of Middlesboro, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 in Harrogate, TN. He was born in Middlesboro on March 8, 1944 a son of the late Robert Houston and Lizzie McVey Smith. He worked in Auto Body Repair at several places in Middlesboro and in his own shop. Ira was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, David Matthew Smith; brothers and sisters, Clarasee Bracken, James (Beulah) Smith, Odell (Pat) Smith Curtis Smith and Shirley Jean Smith. Survivors include his children, Anna Smith, Donnie Smith and David (Melinda) Smith; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bradley, Katelyn, Skylar, Houston, Teresa, Joshua and Danielle; a host of great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Lula (Orville) Baker, Jewell (Ron) Ashley, Mildred Berry and Bobby Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be on Sunday at 11:00 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jay Steele. Music will be by Kathy Brock. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Harrogate, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith Family.
