Imogene Dockery Lawson

Imogene Dockery Lawson, 87, of Middlesboro, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Middlesboro Health Care Facility. She was born in Yancey, Kentucky on April 29, 1929, and was a daughter of the late Carl Dockery and Dovey Walters Dockery-Sloane. Imogene was a Christian, and had worked in Michigan as an automotive machinist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claburn 'Clay' Lawson, and siblings, Clarence Dockery, Nell McKinn, Isabelle Leonard, Arizona Hicks, Arzella Large, Earl Dockery and James McKinley Dockery. Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Rose Marie Goodin of Pineville, special niece, Ruth Johnson, close friend, Pat Ridings and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews, other family, special neighbors and friends. Services will be 1:30 PM on Monday, November 7 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Zach Bay. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Loyall. Pallbearers will be Joel Goodin, Jamie Goodin, Jonathan Goodin, Stephen Cook, Don Horton, Grover Brock and her family and friends. The family suggest donations in Imogene's memory to the Friends of the Bell County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 2534 Middleboro, KY 40965. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:30 on Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Lawson family.
