Hugh Colin Delk

Hugh Colin Delk, 77 Pineville passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at his home. Hugh was born January 8, 1943 in Pineville where he lived his entire life. Hugh held many different titles over his lifetime, including but not limited to, District Manager of the Kentucky Utilities, Disc Jockey on several area radio stations, but his favorite title of all was Granddad or Pop-Pop depending on which of his 4 Grandchildren you happen to ask. Hugh was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Pineville. Hugh was quick witted and there was never a doubt exactly where you stood with him. Hugh volunteered his deep booming voice to many radio stations doing commercials after his retirement and calling area children on Christmas Eve playing Santa Claus to make sure they were on the good list. His talents were never more prevalent as a staple of the Bell County Bobcat Football program as 'The Voice of the Bobcats,' penning the pharses, 'Welcome to the Bobcat-Hilton, where you can check in, but you can't check out and 'May I direct your attention to the Northern Endzone.' He was preceded in death by his parents Millard Theodore Delk and Doris Collett Delk as well as his younger sister Lana Faye Delk. Hugh is survived and will never be forgotten by his wife of 55 years, Lola Miracle Delk, his two sons David (Kristi) Delk of Corbin, Ky and Derek (Ashley) Delk of Pineville; and his 3 Granddaughters Kinley Lois Delk, Kelsey Lola Delk, Layla Marie Delk, and Grandson Liam Derek Delk and a host of family and friends. The Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:30 on Thursday Night with a Celebration of Life directly after at The Arnett and Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jackie Smith and Chris Fuson presiding.
