Howard Taylor

Howard Taylor, 83, of Straight Creek, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell, TN. He was born at Cary on July 13, 1927 the son the late Wilse and Rosie Hensley Taylor. He was a coal miner, a very loving husband and father to his family. He was also a faithful member and deacon of the Church of God of Prophesy at Cary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Smith Taylor, and infant son and an infant daughter, sisters, Della Laws and Senia Smith, brothers, Sherman, Thurman, Truman and Herman Taylor, granddaughter, April Cox, grandsons, Mark Lefevers and Michael Cox. Survivors include his children, Billy and Barbara Taylor, Dolly Taylor, Diane Cox, all of Straight Creek, Virginia and Glenn Lefevers, Gray, KY, Christine and Ricky Daniels, Mary Ann Hensley, Robert and Joann Taylor all of Straight Creek; grandchildren, Penny and Allen Smith, Nora, Courtney and Jessica Cox, Lora, Clint and Carrie, Brad and Ashley Lefevers, Julie Daniels and Rodney Gibson, Dustin and Heather Hensley and Madison, Luke and Jacob Taylor; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Chase, Chloe Bella, Jayden and Landyn Lefevers; brothers, Willard and Roscoe Taylor; sisters, Mary Watts, Ethel and Matt Taylor and Dollie and Roy Grubb and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his church family.
