Hiram Asher

Hiram "Pap" Asher, 75, of Pineville, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 12, 1944 a son of the late George Matt and Rosa Vinie Minton Asher. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a factory worker for Giles. Hiram had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Asher; daughter, Norma Jean Johnson; son, Hiram Asher, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Fuson; brothers and sisters, Jim and Carolyn Asher, Pinie and Juanita Asher, Arnold Asher, Helen and Jerry Gudger, Haley Sutton, Pilinie Asher, Fannie Lawson and Cora Patterson. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Craig Saylor; son-in-law, James Johnson; grandchildren, Isaac Saylor, Travis and Tabitha Saylor, Casey Johnson, Shawn and Leslie Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Brittany and Chris Fuson; great-grandchildren, Makenley Saylor, Doltan Warren, Wyatt Saylor, Kaleigh McCoy, Adisyn Johnson, Madison Johnson, Cameron Hoskins, Dalton Johnson, Caisyn Fuson, Bently Fuson and Kisyn Fuson; brother and sister-in-law, Bradley and Peggy Asher; sister-in-law, Mary "Mag" Asher; special niece and nephew, Shirley Carlton and Jerry Gudger and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services will be at 8:00 PM on Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Philpot and Rev. Darrell Lowe. Music will be by Issac and Travis Saylor, Minnie and Spanky Spanski. Burial will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Hickory Flat Cemetery, Dorton Branch. Pallbearers will be Craig Saylor, Travis Saylor, Isaac Saylor, Shawn Johnson, Brandon Johnson and James Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Asher Family.
